1. Overview

PricePulse ("we", "us", or "our") provides competitor price monitoring, margin intelligence, and automated repricing tools for Shopify merchants. We take your privacy and store security seriously. This Privacy Policy details how we collect, use, and protect information when you install and use the PricePulse Shopify application.

2. Information We Collect

When you install PricePulse on your Shopify store, we access specific types of data strictly required for our service:

Store Identification: Your .myshopify.com domain, store name, primary currency, and authorized OAuth access tokens.
Product & Catalog Data: Product IDs, variant IDs, product titles, variant prices, and product image URLs to map against your monitored competitor URLs.
Competitor URLs & Benchmarks: Public URLs of competitor products that you explicitly submit for price tracking.

What We DO NOT Collect: We never collect, store, or process your end customers' personal data (PII), customer names, addresses, credit cards, or order histories.

3. How We Use Monitored Information

To extract publicly available pricing and stock status from competitor storefronts on your behalf.
To calculate variance percentages and alert you of price cuts or out-of-stock opportunities.
To automatically update product variant prices on your Shopify store when you have explicitly enabled Automated Repricing rules.
To bill for subscription tiers using the official Shopify Billing API.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

Your store settings and monitor configurations are retained only while the PricePulse application remains installed on your store. When you uninstall PricePulse, Shopify sends a mandatory app/uninstalled webhook. Upon receipt of this webhook, all associated tokens and active monitoring jobs are immediately terminated and scheduled for permanent purge within 48 hours.

5. Security

All communication between your Shopify admin and PricePulse servers is encrypted via TLS/HTTPS. Shopify API requests are strictly authenticated via HMAC SHA256 signatures and session tokens.
